Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chimney Technician to join our team. As a Chimney Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to chimneys, including sweeping chimneys, various masonry work (repointing, masonry in the basement to close a hole), working with piping/ liner systems, installing stoves, servicing and repairing various kinds of stoves, and more. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chimney sweeping/liner installation/ stove installations and possess the necessary skills to complete projects efficiently and accurately.
Responsibilities:
Perform thorough inspections of chimneys to identify any potential issues or hazards.
Clean chimneys and flues to remove soot, debris, and blockages using appropriate tools and techniques.
Repair or replace damaged chimney components such as bricks, liners, caps, and dampers.
Install new chimneys/stoves, including assembling and fitting components, ensuring proper ventilation and compliance with building codes.
Conduct chimney relining to improve efficiency and safety.
Provide expert advice and recommendations to customers regarding chimney maintenance, safety, and repairs.
Keep accurate records of work performed, including inspection reports, maintenance records, and customer interactions.
Requirements: (or willingness to learn some of the following)
Proven experience as a Chimney Technician or a similar role.
Knowledge of chimney systems, components, and maintenance practices.
Familiarity with building codes and safety regulations related to chimney installations and repairs.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work at heights, climb ladders, and carry heavy equipment.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Willingness to learn new skills and be a team player and leader.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
